Each bell is individually hand-tuned to ensure that every chime plays exactly notes listed.  Protective nylon grommets are available on most chimes to minimize each cord's contact with each bell, increasing cord life by 700% and producing a clearer, cleaner sound.  The soft wood clapper ensures that you hear just the musical sounds without the harsh "clanking" of wood striking metal.  Most J.W. Stannard chimes are hung so that each chime is struck in the precise location to achieve the desired sound.  The musical notes played by the chime are Laser engraved on the hard wood wind catcher.  Removable hangers slip out to wrap around tree branches or any closed support.  Diamond Line, the indestructible fiber used to tether satellites, holds most of the Stannard chimes together.  Magnetic clappers can "turn off" your chimes.  Just slide the clapper up and it will stick to the top of the  frame.  Available on most chimes.  Each bell is made of a specially developed metal alloy that will maintain the chime's perfect pitch and never rust.  The tops and wind catchers are made from weather resistant hard woods and hand-rubbed with three coats of marine varnish to preserve their natural luster.
